Named after the first settler, Nathaniel Merion, in 1809, Merion Village is located just south of neighboring German Village. The neighborhood built up around the turn of the century, fueled by the end of the Industrial Revolution -- the neighborhood’s southern edge reflects this industrial influence. Many homes in the area are original to the late-1800s and some areas are undergoing a renaissance similar to what occurred in German Village in the 1980s & 90s due to its proximity to Downtown and affordable property values. Single Family, two-story homes are most commonly found here among the occasional vintage treasures. This is an area to watch in Columbus!
